Introduction
At Amazing Buddy, we take your privacy seriously. This policy describes what personal data we process, why, where it is hosted and how you can control it.
Accounts are optional
You can browse places, maps and plans without an account. Saved places and notes stay in the browser on this device.
Membership data
If you become a member by signing in with Google, we process:
- your name, to show your membership
- your email address, to identify your account and answer your requests
- Purpose: to give members access to offers from venues. We do not use it for advertising and do not sell it.
Precise location (optional, with your consent)
Members can choose to share their precise location. This is a separate consent: membership and offers work without it.
- What: your precise position (latitude, longitude, accuracy) and the time.
- When: about every 2 minutes while the app is open and visible, and only if you allowed location access in your browser.
- Why: to suggest offers and places near where you actually are.
- Retention: 30 days, after which positions are deleted automatically.
- You can turn it off at any time on the member page. Turning it off deletes all stored positions.
- Precise location is sensitive personal data under Vietnamese law, so we only process it with your explicit consent.
Anonymous busyness statistics
If you switch on “Busy areas” on the map, your browser sends:
- an area of about 150 m (a geohash cell), never your exact location
- the time, grouped into 15-minute periods
- no name, account or cookie; the server stores only counts per area and period
- It is off by default, nothing is sent when your browser asks sites not to track you (Do Not Track), and you can turn it off at any time.
Offers
Offers are shown to members as they are. We do not record which offers you view or redeem.
Community features
Where community features are available, we also collect:
- Profile information (name, email, profile photo)
- Location data (to show your own position and nearby hotspots; not shared through people discovery)
- Messages (to enable chat and translation features)
- Usage data (to improve our services)
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide our core services (matching, messaging, translation)
- Personalize your experience
- Send important updates and notifications
- Ensure platform safety and prevent fraud
Service providers and hosting outside Vietnam
We never sell personal data. We use these providers to run the service; their servers are outside Vietnam, so your data is transferred abroad:
- Google Firebase (USA): sign-in and account identity
- Vercel: hosting of the website
- Railway: hosting of the application server
- Neon on Amazon Web Services: database hosting
- Cloudflare: content delivery and image storage
Data Security
We protect data with encryption in transit, secure authentication and access limited to what is needed to run the service.
If something goes wrong
If location data is exposed in a security incident, we notify affected members within 72 hours, and we notify the competent authority as required by law.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request corrections to your data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw any consent at any time, without affecting what was done before
How to exercise your rights
Members can download their data and delete their account on the member page. You can also email us. We respond within these times:
- we acknowledge your request within 2 working days
- access or correction within 10 days
- deletion within 20 days
